In 2022, Hubei Jinzhongde Science and Technology Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. and Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Changchun, Jilin, to carry out in-depth research and development cooperation around the "PLA straw degradation mulch film" project, and to promote the practical application of biodegradable materials in the agricultural field.
With the continuous increase in the country's efforts to control "white pollution", traditional polyethylene film is facing an urgent need for upgrading. The PLA (polylactic acid) - based straw degradation film jointly developed by both parties this time uses biobased materials and agricultural waste - straw for functional modification. It not only retains the original functions of film insulation, moisture retention, and promoting crop growth, but also achieves natural degradation and environmental friendliness after use.
This project connects the polymer material research platform of Changchun Yinghua Institute with the engineering capabilities of Jinzhongde in film equipment and process integration, making breakthroughs in multiple key technical aspects such as material design, formula modification, and continuous extrusion molding. Experiments have shown that the new type of plastic film has stable performance during the field laying period, and can naturally degrade with soil fertility after the coverage period, effectively solving the industry pain point of "difficult to recycle and handle" agricultural film.
This cooperation not only represents the important layout of Jinzhongde in the field of green biodegradable film materials, but also provides a technical model for the green development of agriculture in China. In the future, Jinzhongde will accelerate the industrialization of this technology, promote the large-scale application of PLA degradable plastic film, and make agriculture more ecological, environmentally friendly, and efficient.
